It's not been the best week at work for both of us so we were just happy to be spending some time away from office with a late dinner at MO on Friday evening. Previously we have tried to get a table at The Chinnery, the cozy bar tucked away on the Mezzanine Floor, as walk-ins but they were always full, so this time we made the booking a couple weeks ago.

Fine Dining in Causeway Bay
The dinner at Seasons with the CHF gang must have been in the planning for weeks, as it became more and more challenging to find a timeslot to fit everyone's busy schedule. But we finally pulled it off on a weeknight in early April.
The restaurant represent a rare breed of fine-dining French restaurants not affiliated with one of the luxury hotels in town, but instead located inside an upscale shopping mall in Causeway Bay. Chef Olivier Elzer has built up his reputation in the local dining scene since opening this restaurant a few years ago, with the restaurant earning its first Michelin star in late 2014 and kept it since.

True Sunday Brunch at Spoon
We were at InterContinental Hong Kong a couple weekends ago to check out the new Sunday lunch menu at Spoon by Alain Ducasse. It was a particularly lovely day to be seated in this elegant yet relaxing dining room while enjoying the breath-taking view of the Hong Kong skyline across the harbor under this sunny weather.

Friday Night at Sushi Kuu
You probably won’t find another place as vibrant and lively as Sushi Kuu on a Friday evening. In Hong Kong's business standard, this casual Japanese restaurant at the foot of Lan Kwai Fong has been around since forever and is still going strong with the flamboyant Chef Satoru Mukogawa supervising a troupe of chefs working behind the huge L-shaped sushi bar, serving a wide variety of classic and new dishes to the crowd of customers every day.

Farewell to Yun Kee Kitchen
As all the street-side stalls have closed for business late at night, one could still hear the noise coming out of this block in Sham Shui Po from the famous Yun Kee Kitchen. For the past 20 years or so, this down-to-earth neighborhood restaurant has built up a reputation as being one of the best kept secret in the area, serving a combination of classic and creative Cantonese dishes with quality cooking and ingredients.

School Time at Night
We finally made our way to the "far far west" to check out our friend David's new-ish restaurant project "Fish School" (in collaboration with restauranteur Yenn Wong), a few long months after it opened.
There were no excuse for waiting this long actually - when I said "far far west" it only meant a quick 30 minute MTR ride to the other side on the blue line plus a 10 minute walk from the station, before we stood in front of the restaurant, located discreetly in a side alley up in the rejuvenated Sai Ying Pun district, guided by the graffiti sign on the main street leading us to the entrance. And all my friends who came and tried just loved the place and the food and couldn't stop talking about it.

Dine at the Fourth Sister's
I was talking to some friends about Sichuan cuisine earlier when the name Sijie came up. That's when I realized it's been a long while since we last set foot in this speakeasy-style restaurant in Causeway Bay just a couple blocks away from Times Square. Over the years the restaurant has undergone significant changes since we first visited their original location more than 5 years ago at a hole-in-the-wall place inside an old commercial/residential building in Wanchai. Though the price has gone up quite a bit after all the upgraded décor at a more central, modern location, the food has been consistently good and it remained our favorite Sichuan restaurant in town, so we decided to go back for dinner with my parents one weekday evening.
